Light and Shadow: June 6 – July 26, 2026

The Waimea Arts Council is excited to announce our summer exhibit Light and Shadow showcasing our members art. Light and shadow define the world we see – revealing form, creating contrast, and shaping emotion. In this exhibition artists explore the interplay between illumination and darkness, both literal and metaphorical. The works invite viewers to consider how light transforms what is hidden into what is seen. An opening reception will be held on Saturday June 6 from 3-5 pm

Free Saturday June 6 Art Class

Experience collagraphy! Create a bird and habitat at the April First Saturday Art Class. In partnership with the Waimea Arts Council, Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library presents Collagraphy Print Making with artist Lorrie Taylor. Experience collagraphy! Collagraphy is a process that creates fun prints with minimal work. In this class, beginning artists ages 6+ will use cut shapes and textures to create a raised plate that is then covered with paper. Students will gently rub the relief with crayon or chalk to create a unique print. All materials provided by the Waimea Arts Council. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult The class is free but registration is required.  Space is limited. Call 808-887-6067.
