    An exhibit of oil paintings by Norma Watt - March  2026 Artist Statement: I have lived in the Islands since the 60’s and I want my paintings to recapture some of the past and preserve scenes of the present.     The Waimea Arts Council invites Hawaii Island artists to join and enter 42nd ANNUAL FOUNDERS JURIED ART SHOW Firehouse Gallery • October 3 – Nov. 15, 2026 Important Dates Art submission:  Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25, 26 from 11 am – 3 pm Opening Reception: Saturday, October 3, 2026 Opening reception and Awards announcement: Firehouse Gallery, Saturday, October 3, 3 – 5 pm Exhibition closes: Sunday, November 15. Judging Information: Entries will be judged using five criteria: originality, visual balance, clarity, personal expression, and execution of the medium. Judge Richard Bodien is a painter, poet, and musician based in Hāwī, Hawaiʻi. His work has been exhibited in Seattle, his own Hāwī Gallery, and at the Kahilu Theater. His abstract paintings are represented by Tiffany’s Art Agency. A lifelong student of art history, Bodien has both an artist’s eye and a broad perspective of American, European and Asian art.
