The Waimea Arts Council is excited to announce our summer exhibit Light and Shadow showcasing our members art. Light and shadow define the world we see – revealing form, creating contrast, and shaping emotion. In this exhibition artists explore the interplay between illumination and darkness, both literal and metaphorical. FIREHOUSE GALLERY Presents: Brenda Meriwether – Underwater Tile Art Show Opening June 6th 3 pm – 5 pm During the month of June Brenda Meriwether will be exhibiting 50 years of ceramic experience with her own mini show at the Firehouse Gallery in Waimea. Brenda will be in attendance for the opening. Come check o ut her work! Pupus will be served. Brenda Meriwether, a ceramic tile artist with 50 years of experience in ceramics. She has managed ceramic studios in Texas and Iceland, has taught techniques classes in slip casting and glazing, and has had her works in Polynesian Cultural Center, a show at Ong King and a window at Art at Marks Garage on Oahu. On the Big Island she’s had works at the Wailua Art Center, currently at Firehouse Gallery and Kukuau Studio.
