Lei Kui: Flowers & Greens: Friday, October 2, 2026 from 1 to 3:30 pm In this hand-on lei intensive, lei artists Brynly will introduce the kui method while sharing techniques for manipulating leaves, flowers and greenery into unique, modern creations. You’ll create your own lei using a seasonal assortment of fresh materials while learning skills you can carry forward to design and make beautiful lei of your own to wear, share, and give. Louise Bourgeois-Inspired Spider with artist Lorrie Taylor. In partnership with the Waimea Arts Council, Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library presents Louise Bourgeois-Inspired Spider with artist Lorrie Taylor. Using aluminum foil as a base structure, beginning artists ages 6+ will sculpt their spider with foam air dry clay. Texture can be added later for more spooky fun! All materials provided by the Waimea Arts Council and Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. In partnership with the Waimea Arts Council, Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library presents Holiday Cards with artist Irina Place. In this class, beginning artists ages 10+ will create holiday cards using the paper quilling technique. Using thin strips of paper, students will create an image using tight spirals that can be bent into shapes. All materials provided by the Waimea Arts Council.
