The Waimea Arts Council will host its annual “New Artist” show from January 4 through January 27 in the front gallery of the Firehouse Gallery in Waimea. This show introduces the community to artists who are new to the council – all are already accomplished in their chosen medium. A reception will be held on Saturday, January 14 from 3 pm to 5 pm to give the public a chance to meet the artists and enjoy the display.

Will Bateman – oil paintings
Marc Scichitano – acrylic paintings
Teresa Falkenberg – jewelry and paintings
Alissa Mattson – jewelry and paintings
Han Choi – watercolor paintings
Mary Rose, – watercolor paintings
Chris Kutler – mixed media
Patricia Marinello – abstract paintings,
Christian Marinello – sculpture and jewelry
James Carlson – digitally altered photography
Patti Johnson – hand dyed silk items as well as paintings
Gretchen Vanderheyden – cards and woven goods
The back gallery will continue until January 21st with several small solos artists from December: Will Bateman, Pat Dinsman, Marie Kinchla, Marc Scichitano, and Norma Watt. New small solos will begin on the 25th – details in the next newsletter.
