Mostly Makai Mini-Show: November 1 – 30, 2025

10/20/2025

20 Oct

Artist Kathryn Duval’s
“Mostly Makai”  – mini show
opens November 1 in the back gallery room of the Firehouse Gallery with a reception
from 2 – 4 pm.

The show features painted landscapes from multiple Hawai’i island locations, especially those on the ocean.  It runs from November 1 to 30, 2025

Kathryn Duval is a Hilo based artist who frequently joins her local plein air groups in East Hawai’i. She works mainly in acrylic and watercolor, and occasionally with multi-media.  She is inspired by the shapes of trees, waves and clouds, and these feature frequently in her work.  Many of her plein air works are done alla prima in one onsite session.

Come meet the artist and enjoy refreshments at the show’s opening on
November 1 from 2 – 4 p.m.

The Firehouse Gallery is open Thurs.-Sun. from 11–3 and whenever the flags are flying.  Join us for the opening of this mini show and a preview of the Season of Sharing exhibit in the main gallery.
