
This popular annual juried art show is open to current and new members of the Waimea Arts Council. Exhibition dates for this show are October 2 – 26, 2025.
This year’s invited juror is James Hustace – Hawai‘i County Council Member – North & South Kohala. Born on O‘ahu and raised on a small farm in Waimea, James has deep roots in Hawai‘i. A graduate of Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy, he holds a BFA in Environmental Studies from Lawrence University and has completed graduate studies in Geographic Information Systems at the University of Redlands. He also earned a Master of Public Administration from Hawai‘i Pacific University during the pandemic.
Professionally, James is a certified art appraiser working in his family’s business, and regularly volunteers at Isaacs Art Center as a gallery assistant. He’s also worked as a teacher and substitute in Waimea schools.
All art mediums are welcome in this show. Cash awards will be announced at the open house and reception on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Please note that a non-refundable entry fee of $15 per entry is due when entering the works in person. Due to space limitations at the Firehouse Gallery, the maximum size for any entry is 36 x 36 inches. Artwork must be submitted at the Firehouse Gallery, 67-1201 Mamalahoa Hwy., Kamuela, HI, between 11 am and 3 pm on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, September 26, 27, or 28.
