The Waimea Arts Council and Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library are offering a community art class on November 1 called Textiles are Art Too! Artist Lorrie Taylor hosts the session on Saturday November 1 from 10 am - noon in the Thelma Parker Memorial public library meeting room. In this class beginning artists ages 6 and up will learn to make yarn feathers or leaves. Using simple knots, students will create a finished piece that will look great hanging anywhere! If you can tie a knot, you can create a textile piece. Open to the public ages 6 and up. Children under 10 need to be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided by the Waimea Arts Council. The class is free but registration is required. Space is limited. Call 808-887-6067.
